ICP pallets continually collect and transmit critical information using state-of-the-art IoT sensors and a proprietary hybrid of cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies. Each pallet talks to a central, cloud-based server that can be easily accessed online by key personnel.

ICP Pallets outwork, outperform and outlast wood pallets.
ICP pallets are stronger, lighter, more durable, and more easily repaired than traditional pallets or other composites. With periodic maintenance they last hundreds of times longer than wood pallets.

Lighter

ICP pallets are 16 pounds lighter than wood, and well under the 50-pound lifting limit established by OSHA.* That means healthy workers can repeatedly lift ICP pallets for a period of up to 8 hours without an increased risk of developing lower back pain.

Stronger

ICP pallets are far stronger than wood pallets. You don’t have to worry about them breaking under heavy loads. “Deflection” is the engineering term for how much a structure bends under a load. The ISO standard for deflection on a GMA pallet is .69 of an inch.* ICP pallets deflect less than that — even under a load of 5,600 pounds – TWICE the test weight of 2,800 pounds.

Tougher

ICP pallets can take a beating. If a wood pallet is dropped, goes in the freezer with an overweight load, or hits the top deck with a corner shot, it can be irreparably damaged. ICP pallets are built to take whatever abuse comes their way.

Cleaner

Wood pallets can be a worst-case scenario for mold, foreign material and contamination risks. ICP pallets are easy to clean and sanitize, and are designed to not produce splinters, even when they take a direct impact.

ICP pallets’ superior design and performance comes from Advanced Fiber Reinforcement (AFR), a proprietary technology developed by
Integrated Composite Products, Inc. (ICP).

Introducing Integrated Composite Products.

Founded in 2013 by Ron Hawley and Derek Mazula, ICP is a composite technology innovator based in Winona, Minnesota, that has a track record of using fiber to reinforce resins. Its technology has helped transform automobile manufacturing and other industries.

SMART Logistics and ICP spent 3 years studying the ways pallets break, both in the lab and the toughest material handling environments. By learning why pallets fail, we succeeded in developing a stronger, more resilient pallet made from composites.

ICP pallets are stronger and lighter by design.

AFRs are rods and meshes made from glass fibers in various lengths. We add them to a lightweight thermoplastic called high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is also used to make plastic bottles, pipes and lumber.

We use different AFR types to build tension, structural and impact members. Each plays a different reinforcing role. When added to resin in the molding process, they increase the strength, rigidity and impact resistance of plastic. This technology lets our engineers fine-tune the strength-to-weight-cost balance, optimizing every part of the pallet for the threats and strains it faces.
